Counseling Style
Laura's counseling approach is primarily based on solution-focused ideals. The goal is to look for solutions to the presenting problem by evaluating one's behavior, wants & needs, and desire to make changes. Laura has a unique and beneficial background in the field of Education. She was formally both a teacher and a school counselor, from which her experiences provide a deep understanding of the connection between the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Working as a school counselor has allowed her to collaborate with families in order to assist children and adolescents with the many struggles faced on a daily basis. A team approach is often helpful and Laura would be honored to partner with the parent/guardian in working with their child. Laura wants to be a supportive encourager, making clients feel safe and heard, while challenging them to grow and achieve their goals. She desires to serve clients with a welcoming heart of acceptance and endless possibilities for hope, change, and wellness.
